Verizon to offer 3G to Wi-Fi router

Some of the savvier among us might recognize the above device as the Novatel MiFi. It’s a router which converts 3G signal to Wi-Fi so that you, and possibly your neighbors, can enjoy a wireless Internet connection. Once upon a time Verizon claimed these devices were against their terms of service — which makes sense, seeing as how the devices give one the ability to broadcast the bandwidth to multiple users. Now the nation’s largest carrier will introduce their own version, dubbed the MiFi 2200, which is a rebranded Novatel MiFi. Yet another big development since Verizon’s last run-in with 3G to Wi-Fi routers will make them less appealing this time: the 5GB cap. That might be do-able on a phone, but staying under 5GB from a laptop is next to impossible for some of us. Hell, I used 5GB last week!
