Sierra Wireless is a company based in Canada that specializes in making wireless modems. AirCard is a registered trade mark of Sierra Wireless although you may hear the term used generically for any wireless modem.

The AirCard® 880 / 881 is Sierra's latest product offering. The AirCard 880 / 881 is HSUPA capable, offering tri-band UMTS/HSPA and quad-band GPRS/EDGE connectivity. This is truly a global air card.

Format: The Sierra Wireless AirCard 880 / 881 will fit into any standard PCMCIA slot on your laptop.

Technology: Designed for global connectivity, the AirCard 880 / 881 is fully compatible with UMTS/HSPA networks as well as GPRS/EDGE networks. The AirCard 880 / 881 series is specifically optimized for better performance on the outlying areas of North American networks.

Frequencies: This is a multi band broadband wireless modem operating on 850/1900/2100 MHz WCDMA as well as 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE E2GPS/1575 MHz .

Rated Speeds: On most networks the 880 / 881 is capable of download speeds up to 7.2Mbps and upload speeds upto 2Mbps. Please note actual network speeds will vary a lot.

Supported Laptop Operating Systems: The AirCard 880 / 881 will work with Windows® Vista, XP, &2000. It is also supported by Mac OS X.

Antenna: The antenna on the Seirra Wireless AirCard 880 / 881 is durable and fixed in position with no moving parts.The AirCard 880 / 881 has dual antenna diversity support, with the 880 functioning on 2100/850 MHz and the 881 functioning on 1900/850MHz frequencies.

Warranty: All Sierra Wireless AirCard products are backed by a 1 year limited warranty.
