UTStarcom PC5750 Wireless Internet PC Card Review

Overview:

UTStarcom was founded in 1991 and specializes in suppling broadband equipment for service providers.

The PC5750 mobile broadband card is currently available through Verizon for use om their broadband and national networks.

Format: This is a PC card and will fit in any laptop with a standard PCMCIA Type II slot.

Technology: The PC5750 wireless modem will work on the Verizon CDMA2000 1X-EV-DO Rev. A network and will work at slower speeds on EV-DO Rel.0 and 1xRTT networks.


Frequencies: This is a dual band device working on CDMA 800/1900 Mhz.

Rated Speeds: The PC570 wireless PC card will handle download speeds up to 31.Mbps and is capable of download speeds up to 1.8Mbps although average network speeds will vary greatly.

Supported Laptop Operating Systems: The following operating systems will support the PC5750 data: Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista and it will also work with Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher.

Antenna: There is a flip up antenna of the PC5750 broadband access card and it also has provision to connect an external antenna.

Warranty: UTStarcom offers a 1 year limited warranty from date of purchase.

Additional Information: The UTStarcom PC5750 wireless modem features SMS text messaging. You can pick up a brand version of this card through Verizon.
