Format: The EC228 will fit any standard USB port.

Technology: This device is built to access EV-DO (rev A and rev 0) networks and revert to 1xRTT networks when EV-DO is unavailable.



Frequencies: The EC228 USB key uses the CDMA 800 and 1900 download protocol.

Rated Speeds: Download speeds of up to 3.1Mbps are possible (rev A) and up to 153kbps is possible for uploads. Actual network speeds will vary.

Supported Laptop Operating Systems: The EC228 is compatible with Windows XP and Vista along with Mac OS 10.4 or higher.

Antenna: The EC228 does not come with an antenna but third party antennas can be connected to the device in order to boost signal strength.

Warranty: Huawei offers a 1 year manufacturers warranty on wireless modem devices.

Additional Information: The RF antenna adapter (external) for the Huawei EC228 is the WA-1025. This is the first USB key modem that will allow connectivity when using Vista 64-bit.
