Cricket Wireless Mobile Broadband Service

Overview

Founded in 1999, Cricket Communications is a subsidiary of Leap Wireless based in San Diego, California.

Largely known as a prepaid wireless provider, Cricket made the move to becoming a mobile broadband provider as well. Their move into wireless internet has been small until now offering service in only three cities - Albuquerque, Nashville, and Santa Fe.

Pros: The Cricket mobile broadband service is extremely well priced, has no cancellation fee or contract and also doesn't require a credit check to get started.

Cons: The Cricket wireless internet service is only available in three metropolitan areas at the moment (they are planning to expand) and only has two options as far as available modems. The extremely limited service area unfortunately lowered their editorial review score.

I've been using this around Las Vegas and find it neat to be able to just jump on the internet at any time. I never get the reported speeds and forget about downloading email attachments but it's great for checking email, a quick surf and a chat. I love it but the company pays for it, don't hink I'd get it myself.
